I have a couple of friends who MUST go into the wilderness at least two or thrice a year, otherwise they would suffer "withdrawal" symptoms.

I am not saying I understand physical discomforts of this nature, but I can empathise a little with these chaps because I grew up amid nature.

It's one thing to talk about nature and it's quite another to live in communion with it.

How many of us are lucky enough to wander away from the madding crowd during those few precious moments of the year and seek rejuvenation in the wilderness?

Those who are compelled to do so and have been there, seen it, done it, please put up their hands!

Golok,

I go crazy if I am not able to visit the forest at least once every two months.

Hopefully I get out two weekends out of the month, to do some fly fishing even if it is in my local mountains. But often I find that I can not make the drive and have to stay at home and do work.

Always have my call of the wild hotline open, 24/7!!

Late,
FLY GUY

I am currently feeling the effect right now. I feel sluggish, lazy and irritable. However there is no way I could only go a couple of times a year I would literally suffer from serious depression.
I am ok if I can get out for at least one three or four day trip a month but more is better, living in the wilderness would be best.
Thank GOD I am going on a trip tomorrow. :)

Every day, in my head, I plot and plan trips into the wilderness outside my back door. All too often, work gets in the way, so last year, I only logged a half dozen overnight trips and a dozen or so day trips. That sucks my will to live!

My living room window looks out across the MacKenzie River, 25 kms from the arctic circle. This accessibility to wilderness makes every trip a hunting, fishing, survival, and camping extravaganza, and always alot of fun. Sometimes up to 50% of the hamlet goes out on the land at a time! To be stuck at home at times like this can really take it's toll!
I end up counting my blessings(and my knives), sharpening my outdoor skills(and my knives)

Well, on the bright side, the mosquitoes and other biting insects will have to wait for thier taste of the JET!!

Regards

Jet
