I was told they had no record of the knives I shipped to them. I shipped one three weeks ago and one two weeks ago. The girl I spoke with was nice but said this was their busy season and that if they had been received they had not been unpacked. She advised that my warrantee and sharpening issues would take about 8 weeks. Just a heads up for anyone contemplating a quick service. I will call back next week to see if they have unpacked either of my knives.

You know Taz, maybe you should find another brand of knife as it seems like you cant get anything right with Buck. Reading your 18 posts since you joined you seem to not be happy with Buck products and is probably why you joined bladeforums in the first place. As for them being so busy they would take 8 weeks to warrenty your knives, I'm calling BS. I stopped by Buck CS/Warrenty last week to drop off my Bravo folder and have some chips I put in the blade sharpend out. The warrenty guy fixed it right there on the spot in about 10 minutes, chatted a bit and told about some of the new TOPS/Buck collaborations. It did'nt look to me like they were so busy it would take 8 weeks to fix your knife. In fact it took them exactly 19 hours to re-furb 2 112's and re-blade my 560 two weeks ago.

FWIW, I've got two 80's vintage Buck 307's that I sent back to get tuned up, one about a month ago and the other about a week after that. I haven't heard back on either yet. I haven't tried to call, but it does look like it's taking some time to get them turned around (I get excited every day that I check my mailbox hoping to find a package). I did send both with delivery confirmation. The knives are awesome monster stockmans, I just needed them both tightened up, and one had a main blade that was catching on the liner.

Humm, maybe they just like me. Wish they'd give me a job, now that I'm retired from the Army working for buck would be about as cool as, well, Army stuff.

I'm kinda puzzled by the statement that this is their busy season.

This should be a relatively slow season, not their busy season.

I can't get over the 300 series of Camillus made bucks. I also bought a new smaller stockman (301), and a new even smaller one (303?) that is yellow. Mmm-Mmm stockmans!

:thumbup: I thought the exact same thing when I saw who the OP was...seems like nothing but bad stuff with Buck....

Seems like I am not the only one with this issue. It may be a little different if you happen to live close enough to visit in person.

They do not unpack and log them in the day they are received.

Well,i've sent plenty of knives in for warranty work, and i've NEVER waited 8 weeks in my life, and i'm a LONG ways away,Nova Scotia ,Canada to be exact. My knives have to crosds customs to get to Buck, thern get fixed,,then re-packed and mailed back to me,only to go into customs yet again, and i've never waited more than 4 weeks.

Also,if you addressed them to Joe Houser, you will wait a bit longer maybe as they could be sitting in his dept./desk.,and he has been out after surgery as of late, just a thought.

We do have a backlog of unopened packages. Once it gets into the system, it moves fast. we take care of all walk-ins on the spot so the unopened package que does not affect that time.

OK,So you asked a question and in a couple hours had your answer straight from Buck, how can a company be any better?Show me another company that actually communicates directly with customers in a forum,i can't find any.

I just got back a group of knives (six of them) from Buck a week or so ago. Four 110 spa jobs, one blade replacement and one warranty issue. It took less than three weeks from the day I mailed them until the day I got them back.

my Buck's have taken care of just about every knife "need" i have and whenver there has been any issue Buck has taken care of me. can't ask for better then that.

nice to be a person not just another customer in how they deal with you. i've always insured/confirmed anything shipped and it's never been a problem.

sent a couple old ones i had in for work after buying a couple news ones and reading about the wtty again. got a nice note back saying it was nice to work with a 184 again and they had passed it around the shop to look over. i'd been using it (as i still do as part of my rotation) as a outdoors knife with no clue they were the least bit "collectible". was a nice touch and part of what lead me to have as many as i do now.

things happen but i tell ya i can think of NO company that day to day under normal and those "things happen" events that treats you as well as Buck.

Hi Taz -

I hope that your 503 is sitting at Buck, safely waiting to be worked on.
I am sure that Buck will take good care of you.

We do have a backlog of unopened packages. Once it gets into the system, it moves fast. we take care of all walk-ins on the spot so the unopened package que does not affect that time.

Thank you, Mr. Hubbard.

Hi RAZORBLADES -

Kershaw/ZT and Spyderco. Both have a presence here on BF and are very responsive in the same way that the good folks at Buck take care of people here.

Hi Dave -

Should I contact Buck before I send in knives, or just send them in and include a letter with my wishes and the payment for the service?

I am sending in my two 112s to get them freshened up.

Thanks and best regards -

I emailed Buck shortly after Christmas wondering if I should send my knife in. They told me that it was their busy season and that it would take six to eight weeks to get it back. They also said the busy season lasted until March.

See the below as kindly retract your calling BS.
