Callin all So Cal People..

We've got the Cuyamacas and plenty of places north of LA to choose from. I saw some maps and reviews of some trails somewhere around the bottom of Bear. Prolly find somewhere good around there or on the mountain itself...

we should also be aware that a bunch of guys with big knives chopping up stuff may draw some unwanted attention.

didnt somebody have a piece of property in the lancaster area?

We could meet up somewhere (with an address) near wherever we choose and then follow each other to a good place to park (away from trails and hikers) then walk a little ways from the road before going "Here's Johnny!" on some trees.

Unless of course someone's cool with us tearing up their yard :p or has the need for some serious yard work and needs some INFI help :D

Thanks to Busse co (and my Honda Chainsaw....who can resist a chainsaw?) heavy duty tree trimming is now a joy!

i thought someone had made a similar suggestion/offer.

im pretty sure chopping trees on govt land is illegal. of course, only if we get caught. :)

I'd wager you're right Mark :p. I DID find some fallen trees (some huge ones too) on the last hike I went on. I doubt there's anything wrong with chopping up a fallen tree. I also doubt we'd get caught if we went to the right place though. As long as we don't go lumberjack on the place ;). Who know's? Some areas are periodically thinned to a certain degree by the rangers (or so I've heard). Maybe we'd be doing them a favor :)

I'll bet we could find some good ones too  if you want an expert or a guide: I'm definitely not it :D you'd have to look elsewhere for that :p I'm not bad with a map though. I just enjoy a hike and some chopping when I'm able to get out :o. If we all can figure out a good area I could find a map somewhere or a book of maps.

I know Amazon has some good ones. Maybe Adventure 16 does too. My friends old man owns em here in SD. I'll ask him if they carry a good assortment of maps. It's always fun finding someplace new:thumbup:!
