Calling Aldo Bruno......

Karl, How many lifetimes worth of steel do you already have now? Do you really need more? I guess I was the same way when I was still in my 50's. Your a steel junky and we both now it. I really don't think Aldo would head to Atlanta bare handed.........

The first step to a solution is acknowledging the problem. Next is to feed the addiction.

My name is Karl and I'm a steelholic.

Jeees, Karl I think you already admitted you had enough steel in those hugh springs to last several life times, and now you want to steel what little is left from the rest of us. That just ain't right. :D

maybe we should all get together and do an intervention and remove what he does not need and split it up among the not so steel gifted people.

Gee Guy's,

Through all the BS I've had to endure these last 6 or 7 months it's nice to know that there is somewhere I can still go and fffffeel the LOVE. Karl, if I make it to Atlanta it will be by Gods Grace and His alone. If I come I promise to feed your addiction to the best of my ability.

Over the course of the last six years I've seen shops run over by hurricanes and tornado's, shops that have burned to the ground and guys dealing with losses and griefs of all kinds . I suppose the troubles I've been dragged through over the last year might seem trite, but they've been pretty real to us. My family and I have been "sifted like wheat" to coin a verse and, as difficult as it's been, I feel we've ended up all the better because of it.

I'd like to apologies to any of you that have had to contend with unanswered E-Mails or slow shipments. I've had to put certain things on the back burner so I could deal with issues that needed immediate attention. Today I straightened out, what I hope, is the last of them.

I looked into trying to get a hold of 1/4" x 1" 1084 along with the 1/4" x 11/2" that I normally have in stock. At the moment the smallest size available to me is the 11/2" because American mills need to put out a lot more tonnage then 1" will yield them at the end of a day of rolling. We are going to try and contact a few mills this week to see if the rules can be bent due to the economics of the day. I may have one that will roll 11/8", but I can't be sure of the results at this point.

I'm also working on leads for 1/8" and 3/16" 5160 in narrower sizes then we've seen in recent history. At best we my have to go to wider sizes and then get them cut or slit to proper forging and grinding sizes.

For those with power hammers and large arms I've been able to get a hold of 5/8" , 3/4" and 1" 1080 square bar. It's all special bar quality and the Mang. is pretty high(For those who want it for Damascus or Mosaic).

If any of you missed the end result of my search for 52100 flat bar, I did find it and it is pretty readily available, but the cost would have been over $12.00 a pound. I'm hoping to start digging for hot roll. I my be able to get the cost down if I can get a large enough order together.

I've only got about 250lbs. of 1/4"x 11/2" 1084 and put a query in for another load. There is a smelt in May and I'm hoping to be a part of it. I need to know if there is a big enough interest to get in on it. If you are interested in any quantities above 5 bars please E-Mail me. We have been successful in the past doing it this way. I only ask that if you tell me what you want, that you would be a man of your word and stick to it. Smaller orders will be sold after the bulk orders go out. In the future i hope to have it as a regular stock item.

I'll be on a lot more often then I have these past few months. Hope to hear from you all.

Aldo Bruno

Posted in the other thread but I'll say it again here

I am in for at least 100Lb

Your the best Aldo. thanks man

(any possibility of larger sizes? ala 3/8 x 1 1/2?????)

Hey Aldo,

It was great being suprised by seeing you at Batsons. :) Really glad to hear you got that situation ironed out. Hopefully you got the Paypal for the steel you fronted me to take home. ;)
I'm still destroying your steel currently, as I try to fine tune my heat treating. Hope the guys here want enough that you can restock some 1084, I'm going to need it in the future. :D Take care of you and yours.

Aldo, what are the prices for the 1 1/2" 1084 and the 1" square 1080? I have to check with "the family accountant" to see if I can get a load.

Thanks,

Dan Kaschner

Steve,

Every shape I get is a 10,000 pound minimum. How many thousand do you need?

Dan,

I haven't gotten a solid # on the square bar yet. Probably $3.35 for the 1" and 3/4". The 5/8" will be about .15 more per pound.

I'm headed out to Indian George's Hammer-In. Please pray for me!!!! He said the Relish is extra hot this year:eek:

I had a crawfish boil a couple of years ago and a girl was here, 24 caret Cajun. I gave her some of Indian George's Heat Treat Relish and she said it wasn't that hot...however, it burnt the Hades out of me! I at least went thru a 12 pack!
