calling all spyderco laci szabo folder owners... just did a mod i highly recommend ;)

Lol I love that high tech remote in the background. It just screams "Tactical" :D

tactical? that thing is god damn torture device bro...

I do the same thing
am I the only one that's ever dropped a pivot screw and almost had a breakdown;~?

no, but ive dropped screws that caused others to have breakdowns while i spend sometimes hours searching for lollll

I lay out a towel on my bed that does a fantastic job of making all small parts seem to disappear. Then if my wife (or anyone) moves I have an internal nervous breakdown. I really need to just set up an area for this kinda stuff, but I like to tinker, repair (ha!), and sharpen while watching Tv. :)

heres an update of my szabo and the different methods i can now deploy the blade after the mod.
due to the nature of the spring detent system, the blade does not drop freely as would on a regular conventional compression lock once depressed.

after getting the knife and opening it I see the hard detent and get why you modded yours but mine isn't so hard to open its a problem, I good flick of the wrist helps this guillotine fly out fast enough and if I want fast opening knives I got my assisted crkt natural two wave knives and two benchmade with axis locks

yeah a good wrist flick will get it open but i feel that is counterintuitive for a knife specifically designed for the purpose of self defense... i personally prefer knives that are smooth deploying requiring little or "reasonable" amount of force to open. such a great blade design, just wished it was a conventional compression lock or even a frame/liner lock design.

I agree and honestly I would love to have the spring modified, it's just I don't trust myself taking this knife apart

lol its not that hard to take apart and put back together but if youre interested and for the cost of a beer or two + return shipping i'd gladly do the mod for you... it is however best to do this mod and adjust spring tension at your own discretion though.
