I know the Jacks are referred to as "Jacks of All..." but let's be more specific. Especiallhy for those new to INFI.

What exactly do you feel the Jack could do well. Not so well. Espeically if you have actually done said task. :)

Baton
Pry
Chop
Cut
Skin
SD
Digging
etc...

What would be considered "normal use" on this knife so as to be covered by the warranty?

I used mine once to eat a nice big juicy steak. Sorry, no pic though ...

I use mine pretty regularly 1/4" SJ, it's picture is on this thread. It's like a Kabar, or what it replaced for me, an Ek M-5.

It doesn't excel at any of the things you mentioned, but it's capable of doing all those things. It's a good size for most needs, and its INFI.

I've prepared food with it, a little fat for a good slicer, tomatoes come out a little funky. Done yard work it, chops okay up ~2", dug weeds. I can toss it into my bag or the truck, it's handy because I've got it with me. I don't hunt so I'm not sure how it'd do as a skinner, but it does other camp chores. And in an emergency I think it could be used in defense.

Jerry opened up a minivan with one once.

But just about anything from a Badger to a Steel Heart pretty much fills the bill, the SJ just sits in the middle of the spread. A Badger's a better skinner and the Steel Heart a better chopper, but in a pinch.

This was one of my first Busse knives, my other one I have is a fatty SJ.

The black paper is sweet. I picked that combo up at Knob Creek for a friend. I hated to part with it in a couple of weeks!

Ice Camo variant

Love that Frosty SJT. Can't wait to get mine. Even my wife wants one (and now we know how they do the ice camo - ala Flame Warden).

My favorite Jack... Muddy SJ Tac Variant. :D

the sjtacs are among my least favorite, but that is very nice. the serrations really add alot to the overall look.

and of course i love all the muddy's!!

Just how fat are we talking?

It is the only only one I ever had that was over .250", it measures .275". It also has more of a rounded front and deep belly blade than any other 1/4" SJ I've had, that is why I kept it.

Here it is in the middle of a .285 BBSHSH and .250 custom shop MS.
