That stainless handled Caly Jr. is the only one from the best of my knowledge that had a hollow grind blade. I had the set in both SE & PE and I'm very sorry to say that I traded those away. The AUS-8 blade steel is a great steel for Spyderedges. The Micarta model in AUS-8 was also an old favorite of mine as well.

The entire Calypso series are Spyderco's best IN HOUSE designs in my opinion. I kind of include the TEMPERANCE models in that bunch as well. They sure look like Calypso models to me.

Cross posted from the Spyderco forum because why not? :D

I'm on board for any Caly Jr. variant. That was the first Spyderco I ever bought back around 2000 and still my second fav model after Caly 3. In fact, I was lucky enough to be browsing ye ol' auction site at the right time to snag this handsome fella and he was waiting in my mailbox when I got home from work today. Welcome to the family, Mr. Micarta. :)

I bet this is one that my good pal "xceptnl" hasn't even thought of o_O As much as I used to like the old AUS-8 stainless Caly Jr. I'm wondering if anyone has seriously considered a Titanium version of the Caly Jr???

You could do it with some type of inlay or just plain Titanium. Why not?? We've had so many variants of the Caly Jr. so if we're going to go for a Sprint Run why not something very "out of the ordinary"???

But being they did the stainless version in SE & PE both it would be most appropriate if they would do a Sprint run in both edge types.

After drooling over the low prices on the Vrango for the last few days, the thought of a Titanium Caly Jr. did cross my mind a few times. With a nice wire clip and swedge.
