I just ordered a Caly3 and its in route. :D It was a toss up between it and a Sage. Please tell me I made a good choice, if not the itch isnt going to go away. This has to kill the itch at least until Christmas.(Yearly bonus). I know the Sage is nicer to look at, the Caly will be babied for a while then put to work like the rest of my knives. So did I make a good choice?

The Caly 3 is a great usable knife. It is well built with the very best materials from a great American knife company! HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG?

of course you made a good choice its a spyderco right

The Caly III is a great great knife! even if the Sage is better, it was still a good choice!

I have both and I carry both. The Caly 3 is a worker. It's much tougher than it looks. I use mine in the warehouse around the house, and I've even taken it camping along with my mini-Manix for "tougher" chores. I didn't even open the mini-M that time in the woods. The Caly 3 did everything that I didn't need a hatchet or large FB to do.

I carry the Sage on weekends or when I want something a bit more refined but still pretty tough. Both carry well in pocket or IWB. When the frame lock Sage comes out, it may replace several of my current carries. But until then, the Caly 3 is firmly in my work EDC rotation.

Oh man I do not know they both are really good knives, and the Sage has the liner lock going for it.

Weel thanks for the replies, I guess I made a good choice and will be adding the Sage on my "Need to Get" list. The itch is gone, temporarily.;)

I have both. Carry Caly3 every day for two years. Sage, which is very nice knife is in display case. If I wouldn't have Caly3, I would carry Sage for sure.

I think you made the better choice ! Caly III is damn near perfection and IMHO better than the Sage :O

Carry it immediately, you will not regret doing so. The ergonomics on it are superb and it is a joy to use. It is laser sharp to boot ! and carries very discretely.

I just got in in today. Dude is it a sweet knife. I dont think I will be using hard yet. I would like to look at it, and admire it for a while. I have plenty of other users. I love the blade shape. I'll post a review in the near future. Thanks.

I bought a new knife every month and a half for over 2 years. Benchmades, Kershaws, Spydercos, and others looking for the perfect knife for me. I stopped buying after I bought a Caly3. After a couple of months I lost my new friend. Even with a whole bunch of nice blades in a drawer to choose from I ordered a new Caly3. I did break down and order another knife after that, a Caly 3 with carbon fibre and zdp steel. I like the g 10 knife better. If they offer a ball lock on the sage will give it a try, other than that, I'm set.

and my original Caly3 turned up, still clipped into a pair of jeans folded in my dresser.

I just got one in a trade( VG-10/G-10 version). It's a little small normally for my tastes, but fits my hand like a glove,& it's sharp as a scalpel.

Congrats on your purchase:thumbup:
