While at my local gun store today, I came across two Cold Steel knives that immediately caught my eye. I am no expert when it comes to Cold Steel knives, but I did notice that they were the older styled Recon 1 and AK-47. I have some pictures that are not the best quality, but as good as I could do with my phone in quick order.

So those are my pics. What I need to know is if these are the rare Cold Steel knives I'm thinking of. I know they are the older version and that they're made in Taiwan. I hope the pics show enough to tell. Oh ya, the prices... Recon: $110 AK: $130....

Nope, those pics did not work. I know the knives you're talking about though. Neither is particularly rare or valuable. They're decent enough knives, but were made in high volume, and only a couple years ago. And unfortunately, if the prices you've listed are what you paid, then you spent more than you needed to.

Good thing I DID NOT buy them... I held and looked then came strait home to ask you guys!

On the way to Cabelas for my birthday last year, I stopped in a gunstore in Reading PA, and pawed through a box full of knives. Most were either no name or S&W junk, but there were a few Bokers and Cold Steels. I saw a lot of AK47's, and a few knockoffs. Opening and closing them, the real deals and the knockoffs felt the same. I politely declined on them. I think the "real" AK47's were about 50 bucks each.

Ya, I really didn't like them either I just thought I found some that may be rare...I would have sold them and been done with it. So far it seems I made the right choice not to purchase unless someone has something else to say about them.

I recently traded an old gen AK. Before I did so I checked ebay and they were at "buy it now" prices of well over $100. A lot of people seem to prefer the AXIS licenced lock and possibly thicker blade stock it had.

Those were way to much!!!! The new ones with the Tri-ad lock are much better and you can almost get both for the price you were going to pay for one. As for the Buy It Now price on Ebay that does not mean it will sell. Kevin :D
