Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a Hawg for daytrips and mountain biking, basically to carry the essentials, a bit of food and clothing (no long trips and I wasn't planning on taking the kitchen sink, just the "bear" essentials :D ). Whats the experience with the Hawg, I've an older Mule which is too small for my liking.

i have had a HAWG for the past 2-3 years or so... i love it.. it's the perfect size.. i mtn. bike and hike with mine...

I use the MULE - it's about the same size, maybe a bit smaller and works great for what I need it for which is mountain biking, hiking, fishing - any short day trips.

As compared to a Mule, the HAWG can carry a lot more gear and it is pretty stable and does not bounce around much even on technical descents. It's a bit big for shorter 2 hour rides though.
