i am looking for a slr camera backpack that is well padded, has the ability to attach a tripod to the outside, and protects the gear from the weather. at most i would carry 2-3 lenses and a flash....although my canon 70-200 2.8 IS is a HUGE lens.

it does not have to be "water-proof" nor does it need to have a laptop compartment....it must be comfortable to wear though :)

I also suggest the Lowpro Mini Trekker AW (All Weather). It has a rain fly that you can pull out during inclement weather or wet conditions. I've had mine for over a year now and it is still serving me well. I have my Nikon D70s and about four lens in there including my flash and other incidentals. You can also attach your tripod to the outside of the pack.

BTW in my opinion, it is confortable to carry all my gear in it with all the shoulder and back padding, waistbelt, and adjustable straps.
