I've got this really old pocket knife from my grandfather. It has Camillus stamped on one side of the blade and a number 80 on the other. After doing some sleuthing of my own it sure seems to match the #80 in shape and blade configuration. I can't find anything that matched the handle material exactly however. Any tips on getting it cleaned up?
Congratulations! This is a rare knife 50-60s. http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Catalogs/1955-Camillus.pdf http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Catalogs/1957-Camillus.pdf http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Catalogs/1959-Camillus.pdf
Oh nice to have some vindication. Any idea what my handle is made from though? It doesn't appear to match the Brownstag handles shown in the catalog or this just what it looks like after being worn down over the years?
Heck i saw one very similar to yours at the flea market. Only more rust and the main blade went way past open as the spring or stop was rusted gone. Will look on the other side of blade to see if there is a number? Don’t know if it’s collectible in that condition? Think the guy said $10 lol
