A little Camillus and Becker history...

Some folks have asked me about that "sickle thing."

Here's the explanation from the designer and man on the front lines, Phil Gibbs:

Here are some pics:

And the CAD for the other Egress prototype:

ETA: I touched the bare metal on the spine of Bladite's 1 of 8 Egress, and I thought he was going to stroke out. :p

Thanks for posting the old CAD drawings. I spend a large part of my day doing CAD work on the computer so that's a trip for me to see hah. Pretty simple. I like. Does look as if a BK2 would fit in that sheath though. Not the heli-escp tool.

I have been wondering what that was but didn't want to ask. Really got curious when you put it in the prototype thread. Very cool!

Now, if I could just find some Kevlar impregnated strapping for testing... :D

I loved the history lesson, especially coming straight from the source.
Very informative. Thanks.

if i had known you were going to lick it, i'd have wiped off the poison oil first :)

That sure would look snazzy attached to my 3 in the car. It would be a Houdini dream pairing.

That is awesome that a) you have one and b) you have the letter and history of the knife.

Did anyone notice the file location listed on the document posted for the Helicopter Egress Tool (the sawback version)? Haha.
