well thats bad news!! the brute was a monster. i had 1 for a very longtime, it did eventually break in 2 though, while batoning hickory, i wasnt mad though because that knife split more wood than most axes!!

Check the Ask Tooj thread, I think it was in there. Seems the BK1 and BK6 are not going to fit the price range for BK&T. It was either that or a problem with being able to turn these out on top of their other projects.
 
Ugh... that sucks... hard... although I can agree that $200 would suck... so I can understand...

I could probably get away with something like an RD9 maybe? Any monster choppers like that you guys can recommend? I love my BK9 and Junglas... also have the SURVIVE GSO-10 on order... I like the idea of the 1/4" or more thick, 9"+ blade... SP50 maybe?

I love the Brute profile soooo much. It saddens me that the general consensus is that the existing ones aren't very competitive choppers. Once I'm back to buying knives, having a custom maker make me a tweaked Brute clone will be on the short list.
 
WTF-over ? This is HORRIBLE NEWS. I could live without a BK-1 i suppose but was REALLY looking forward to the BK-6. Booo Hisssss. :thumbdn:

I have an SP-51 & SP-53. Can't go wrong with either. 1/4" thick. Get you one.
