Camillus Closes Its Doors-- Who Will Make Remington Knives Now?

Case has done alot of it in the past, Queen certainly does and is who I had hoped would take over the Bullet Knives, but there are noticable differences between the Remington 2007 Renegade Bullet and a Queen or Case Swing-Guard pattern, pin placementand lock locations are different.

There was some discussion about it on another forum and it seems Bear & Sons Cutlery did at least the 2007 Bullet.

I would love to see Queen do future ones!

That's interesting. I've seen the Remington and it seems nicer than what Bear usually makes. I wouldn't have guessed them at all. It is possible that someone actually made up new tooling for this knife. It is usually made in pretty large quantities every year so new tooling wouldn't be unusual. Queen, like Camillus did, has some pretty old machinery and they put out fairly variable quality. However, I would agree that usually they would be a better choice than Bear. But the Remington bullet knife for this year is pretty nice. If Bear did it, then they did it well.

It's possible, but for a 1 year production run, it's not typical to create all new tooling.

Bear can do nice stuff when they want to, their Custom Heritage Series can be pretty nice.

Here is their Red Jigged Bone Swing Guard in that series:
