Hello all, my knife dealer has offered me a good deal on his remaining stock of camillus, including the CQB1's. Will it be worth it to snatch these for the future? I hate to speculate for disaster but he is indeed giving me a tempting price.

Well, any US made knife would be rare in the coming years, but this is just my opinion from the current look of things. Question, if you see a good deal thrown at you, do you normally take a look at your what's inside your wallet first? Catch 22, if you think it would make an immediate investment. It anyone's guess about which stuff in future would turn out having a cult like status, because if it's that rare to begin with than, then its the sellers price from the very start. As in any buys you would make, be sure that you have absolutely everything NIB (papers too), but more importantly that the fit and finish (especially matching grinds) for all cutlery purchases. Nothing like bad workmanship to blow your investment plans. And yes, the CQB 1 would be an interesting matter for speculation be sure you get hold of the ATS 34 version, I suspect the later batches from 154 CM doesn't live up to the expectation in quality of workmanship. That's why you ought to check on the finishing first hand!

I have a CQB1 that's 154CM and the fit and finish are outstanding. It's on par with some customs I own. As far as performance, ATS-34 and 154CM are virtually identical and should perform equally. As time goes by and they get harder to find, the price will go up. Look at Gerber BMF's, They are selling for better than $300.00 on Ebay and five years ago they were half that....Jim

I think it would be a good investment. Especially if you can pick one up for something like $30, the closeout price at Sportsman's Guide. :) Fat chance...
