I recently recieved a full size Cuda with a damascus spear point blade. I have tried to find out about the knife and appearantly it is not made any more.
I would like to know if anyone has carried one? If so, are they durable? When were they made? If its not made anymore is it worth puting in a drawer and into retirement?

Centurian,
I went to a knife shop one day and played with a Cuda knife and was very impressed by how smooth it opened. When I came upon a full size Damascus Cuda on eBay, I scooped it up since they were out of production. It is a decent knife and I carried it for a few days, but I have others I like more. This one seems a little too bulky for EDC. I don't know if it is because of the size and weight of the blade, but the opening doesn't seem to be as smooth as the one I tried at the knife shop (I think it was a Cuda Jr). The opening button on my damascus Cuda seems a little flimsy, although I've never had any problems with it. I think it's a nice knife, but it's just not for me to use it as my EDC. By all means, if you like it, carry it. I don't see why you would want to relegate it to a drawer if you like it. Mine has taken up residence in a display case for the time being.

I paid $150 on eBay, but I'm not sure of the original cost, or collector value.

Thanks, for your help sw3253. I like the knife esp. because of the damascus. Although the liner lock seems kinda "thin" for such a thick blade. Well since it's worth $150.00 and they don't make it anymore maybe I'll retire it to the case. Plus I am a fan of REALLY BIG folders like the Cold Steel XL Voyagers or REKAT Sifu's. Thanks again

Speaking of really large folders, have you checked out the Cold Steel Vaquero Grande? This thing is outrageous. I think it's about 1/2" longer than the Sifu. I recently saw a folding limb saw in the local hardware store and I think my Vaquero is bigger than the saw!

I have a Vaquer Grande and believe me it IS a hand full. The blade comes out like its buttered and it cuts extremly fast with the serrated blade.
Its NOT a knife you want to cut string from your package in the Post Office!!! People look at ya very strange!

I have a C/S Vaquero Grande, It is very big. I must say that while at the mall in a knife shop the clerk asked me if I had a knife and if so if he could sharpen it with this new stone. So being polite I said "sure" and out comes the VG. People in the store were suprised

. I like it but I find that it's kinda think in the handle. The Sifu or the Cuda are much slim line.
