Nice military or coast guard/merchant marine WWII era lifeboat or sailors knife. Sharp. and in nice original shape. Earlier Camillus stamp. $59 Shipped CONUS. Check/MO only please.

Yes... I've been told that it was a common alteration so that a sailor could easily one hand open the by pulling it across a belt or pocket
 
I've been having issues with the Popular goins tang stamp date range for this. You find a range listed at 1941-46... but I just haven't read the knife as being that young so I haven't given it too much weight. I just downloaded a kastor list of marks that is much more detailed and it attributes that date range to knives also having the sword brand mark which this does not. It states a range of 1919-41 for this knife. I tend to believe that more
