Camillus made Bucks

Is there a time span that Camillus made the Buck pocket knives? I'm specifically wondering about a Buck stockman model 301V ( I believe thats a 1989 produced knife).

What is the difference between a Buck 301 & a 301V?
Sorry, I don't recall some of the 300 series nuances.

I believe the V is a Buck date code for the year 1989. I've heard that some of the published info on the Buck date codes isn't always reliable though.
