ebay is loaded with these knives and has been for a few weeks. one seller has a BIN of $13.72. what's the story here ? that's a price i associate with made in China. how come there are so many, so cheap and what (if anything) does Rough Cut refer to ? and finally, does anyone have one and how is the quality ? thanks, roland

hi, although i havent got one of these yet [i did place an order for all 4 handle variations but the store went out of business] ive heard good reviews on these knives ,their basic camillus stockmans bulk packed meaning no boxes low prices, decent quality for a 15.00 or so knife, and i think the etching roughcut was a sales tool to get some buyers.I think if you can get one for 13.00 dollars or so you would get your moneys worth, thanks

I bought one from an E-Bay seller. Great knife for the price. All Camillus. No China here. I may pick up some more of these before the current glut dries up.

The finish is generally not as good as the regular production versions of the same knives, but the materials are the same. They make great working tools, much nicer than the stuff coming in from overseas at the same price.

I couldn't figure it out either, but I got one that I was the only bidder on. When it gets here, I''ll report back.

The knife came in and the quality seems fine, the only thing is there is no tang stamp. Oh, it's not very sharp and the edge is kinda rough. This may be normal since I don't have another to compare it to.

I've sold dozens of these on ebay and other places... wholesale price is about $7.00. Fine, Camillus made knives. No tang stamp. The blade etch had the look of SMKW to me, and I was just under the impression these were made for SMKW but never delivered to them. I have had a few come in that were less than perfectly finished, all of them were perfect users however. One of the genuine real bargains in knives right now. Both red and brown delrin handles.

Oops! I bid way too high on my maximum bids. I should have read here first.

I have 4 of them, I bought them as a carry knife. I have to say I got my moneys worth. There a good knife made in the USA. I don't think you can buy that China junk this cheep.

At the end of Schrade, lots of people were paying way too much for knives of less than great quality or desirability. Don't make the same mistake if you want to stock up on a few Camillus products. A few good ones are still being wholesaled to sellers. The little 'centerlock' CM422 is a neat knife, wholesale $6.00. Some of the carbon series still available, and the CM152 (sharpfinger) is a bargain at $20. A particularly fine knife, the boy scout hunter (CM-BSA68), has the frame of the very desirable and overpriced big yellow jacket 716, but has a locking saw and locking clip blades; wholesale is a bit high on this one. Still lots of the big folding hunter 26 and the very fine marlin spike in the pipelines, as well as more Grandpa models.

I know this forum has it's favorite Camillus Ebay seller, so don't let him overcharge you on these things.

I deal, yes. No sales to members of this forum, 'cause that is not why I am here. I come to learn and share what small knowledge I have.

Information I posted above is correct as of this weekend. From wholesalers printed and online catalogs.

The more I look at this knife, and the more of them I see on ebay, the quality may be questionable. The clip master blade and the sheepfoot next to it scratch each other. Where did all these knives come from?

To me it sounds like your trying to sale some of those knives. Stand-up and be a man about it. You certainly got in my face. The only difference is I took credit for my post. I see now why you were crying about me selling knives.

Mess with the bull you'll get the horns.

I don't know why, but I bid on three of them. I "won" the first two at $12.50 and $9.99. The other ends tonight.

Those are reasonable prices (I think), but I'm not sure I need three of them! Looks like I know what I'm giving for gifts this year! :D

I think your right about the price, The knives I got may not be collector knives but I think they beat any other pocket knife in the $15.00 and under category.

Rough cut refers to rough cut tobacco as in the Skoal and Copenhagen Rough cut advertising knives.

The first arrived a couple of days ago and I am very pleased with the quality of the construction. It's a nice knife, with just the right amount of tension on the springs. Good snap, but you don't break fingernails opening the blades. The blade grinds are all nice and even, although the edges are ground way too thick. It's not even remotely sharp.

I'm working on reprofiling the edges to make the first one a user, and maybe use the other two was gifts.

Anyone know if the blades are stainless or 1095?
