Camp and survival Spydie!

I use a fixed blade for my more serious camp needs, and for food prep. So my folder is used for various other jobs like whittling sticks, etc., plus, it's used as a serious beater. Once I wanted to show my stepdaughter what was inside an old log: stick in point of Spyderco folder, pry off piece. For car camping, I might use it to break up ice.

In other words, I want my folder to perform, but to some extent it's also a beater that's going to be put to some borderline-abusive functions. As a result, I need something that performs well, is robust enough for these kinds of uses, and is inexpensive enough that I don't worry about using it that way. There's just one answer here: Endura!

I don’t like definition “survival knife” because it is associated mostly with kind of sharpened prybar what has nothing to do with knife intended use. Especially it is not sensible speaking about folders.
My choice of SPYDERCO outdoors folder is definitely Military in first, second and even third order :)
My wife has considered it as very best folding knife for field sandwich making :D

Lil'Temperance spear point.
Super strong lock\
Thick blade all the way up to the point. Making it less apt to snap the tip off.
Superb handle geometry.

Fixed blade would have to be a Moran featherweight. Don't own wone YEt but I will. I handled one yesterday and as soon as funds are availabe I'm grabin' one.

I might be tempted to grab my Strider AR or GB but this aint the Strider forum now is it.
