52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure. This is the same heat treating process that I use on my large camp knives so this axe cannot be sharpened with a file, it will be necessary to use a stone but the great edge holding properties will be appreciated.
Flat grind with a slight convex. (axe grind)
Distal taper under the handle
Black canvas Micarta handle finished to 36 grit for grip
Light mustard patina on the flats
Measurements: 11 1/2 inches from the top of the head to the butt, head length is 4 7/8 inches, 1/4 inch thickness on the flats
Weight: 1 pound 6 ounces
Simple leather edge cover
