Most axes can be sharpened with a file but I have heat treated these the same i would a large knife: 58-60 Rc on the edge. There are a lot of these in the field being used with good results. I received a few photos of a customer butchering a deer and chopping the ribs away from the backbone with one with no edge damage. The edge is forged fairly thin and chops and slices well, the body is thick enough to split kindling. I keep one if these in a day pack in my truck and every time I go into the woods it goes along.
Forged from 1085 steel
Differentially heat treated to Rc 58-60 on the edge with a softer body
Handle length: 12 inches
Head length: 7 inches
Cutting edge: 2 3/4 inches
Leather edge cover, not belt loop
SOLD delivered to the US or Canada. My PayPal account and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com Please feel free to contact me with other payment methods or overseas shipping costs.
