This axe was forged from a bar of soild 1060 steel..The poll is hardened and polished..The cutting edge is 3 3/4" wide and the head is 7 1/4" long overall..It has a forge finish..This one is a real chopper ;) This hawk with handle and sheath weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces total..The handle is straight grain hickory, burned,stained and finished with boiled linseed oil..The sheatgh is 8oz leather with a welt and keeper strap. Its held together with double cap rivets and sealed with neatsfoot oil..
