I have e-mailed all those that have taken place in the Camp Knife Challenge to ask what it is that you wish to happen to your knives when Brian has finished testing ( which has more or less done).

One maker has asked that I do a post so that you can discuss this issue so here it is !

To quote from Brians original post :

"2) Return shipping

Whatever it takes to send the knife, please send that along so I can ship it to the final destination. That might be back to the owner, to a raffle winner, or wherever. The point is that shipping will be covered. If there is some sort of contest or raffle, sending me the shipping money will allow me to not be involved in all the money handling of all that. I will just send it where you tell me to."

So if anyone is now wanting their knife returned but did not send provisions for it to be returned then you will need to contact Brian to rectify that !

Thanks again to all those that were sport enough to take place and a huge thanks to Brian for making it all possible !!!!

I am open to a charity auction of some sort if anyone else is interested. Christmas is coming up, maybe something like toys for tots or donate the money to a food bank? Not really sure if this would be doable or not. The logistics might complicate things too much.

If no one else is interested in this then my knife can be sent back to me and I'll figure out some way to dispose of it.............. ;)

Mrs Pit just made a suggestion that whoever's knife comes out on top then they get to pick what charity the proceeds from the other knives go to !

Any other thoughts ????

I'm the one who asked. Mostly because I'm not sure if we don't have some sort of mutual idea for a benefit of some sort.

If everyone wants to, and Spark okays it, I'd be more than happy to put mine in an auction. Whether it's a split profit like the raffles on some other sites or 100% to charity. Or even just a raffle and the knifemakers can do what they want with donating the proceeds- anything works for me.

I'm not gonna complain if the concensus comes down to individual sales, or even a random box gets mailed back to the maker with someone else's knife in it. (that sounds kinda fun).

But I think that a consensus might be a good idea.

And I think we should invite spark over to the discusssion here.

I am up for a raffle and the proceeds going to a charity. My personal preference for a charity would be a Cancer related one.
If everyone is in for the charity donation....I think that is a cool thing for us to do.

If everyone is not in for the charity donation....I am in for a random box being mailed back or just get mine back and I will raffle it for a donation.

I've contacted Brian already. I would prefer to get mine back. I'm not against charitable auctioning...I would just prefer to have the test knife back and auction off an unused knife.

I've gotta get my knife back guys. Sorry.

This makes it easier to decide, then! I'll update pitdog- get the knife mailed back to me directly. honestly, I'm eager to see it after the tests, anyway :D

At least it will be easier to ship the knives back as most are now in two pieces which means they will fit in a smaller box !:D

Yeah, but mine is probably in 3. At least if it is it will fit in a small priority mailer!

Haha. Dan's broke first, right?

Ya I'd actually like to get mine back to. Gonna make a little shrine out of it. First shootout knife. First and only knife with that marker's mark. Etc...

Sorry guys....I gotta be a prick here maybe...

Can I ask why you guys need your knives back? I can appreciate Noshtero's reasoning(his first makers mark knife) but I guess I was kind of under the assumption that these knives would go on to better homes and some one/organization would benefit from it.

Well, I was going to ask this, but I guess you went ahead and did it for me :o

For me the answer is simple. I need to sell it. I was up front about this from the start. I do hope it goes to someone who will use it, and enjoy it. But this is my full time gig now, and I need to sell it. I apologize if this shows a lack of class. My kids table trumps my honor I guess.
