T, I really agree with you on this point. But getting the other Beckers is still a high priority, so any combo is a good combo

A 16 and a 7 wont steer you wrong. great combo there. 16 and a 9 is a great call too.
The 2 is a beast and for the price one of the best knives in its class, but for me, I agree that the 16 or the 15 if you want a more stout blade than the ffg 16 have all the best things about the 2 with none of the draw backs.
Having said that, you can cut your way out of a car or a walk in freezer with a Bk-2 sooo if your ever gonna need to dig a trench with your knife, or do demolition with it, then the 2 is clearly the way to go.

If you want a good camp blade you cant go wrong with a KABAR bk2, bk4, bk9, bk10, bk11, bk14, bk15, bk16, bk17, or a bk24... I hope this helps clear the water for you a little bit......

I love my 17...but haven't had my new 7 in the woods yet...so I'd say any of the Becker will do what you want and I'm sure the Ratmandu is a great blade, but when the Beckers are just as good or better for cheaper, I'd choose one of them every time.

Yea...this is the becker forum right ? I love my bk7. It is the go to knife in camp. I'm looking at the bk 17 as well. Cool looking knife.
