Here is a big ole camp knife/chopper made from some of Aldo's W2 steel. The spine on this one measures .350 thick, it was double quenched in Parks 50, triple tempered, then the spine was drawn back by torch. The blade was hand sanded to 2000 grit with a hair popping sharp polished convex edge. Here are the specs:
Steel- Aldo's W2 X .350 thick
AOL- 16 inches
Grind- Flat with drawn swedges and polished razor sharp convex edge
Blade- 9 1/2 inches to the plunge cuts, blade width is 2 3/8 inches at its widest point
Finish- Hand sanded to 2000 grit
Handle- 5 1/4 inches with 1/4 drilled lanyard hole
Scales- Black G10 with red liners
Hardware- 3 stainless 5/16 loveless bolts
Sheath- RH pouch style made from 7-8 ounce vegetable tanned leather. Tooled, stained and finished out for a medium carry position.
