Every time I go camping, I make a knife and take it with me. Normally I sell them afterwards, but I am having a difficult time letting this one go. (the wife says to "let it go"). I chopped wood all weekend with it, and just got done cleaning it up. It is ready for someone else now.
I forged it out of 1095 and gave it a clay quench for a nice hamon. It still shaved hair after the weekend of use.
The guard and handle are micarta. The guard is linen, and the handle is natural canvas. There are quite a few spacers to set the whole thing off a little.
The sheath took me nearly as long to make as the knife itself. It is tooled 8oz leather with a snake skin inlay. The knife snaps securely into the sheath, but comes out with one quick motion also.
Dimensions -
Blade - 7" tip to guard
OAL - 1 foot
Price - $345 shipped. I think this is a steal with the sheath, but it was heavily used this weekend. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.
