Hey guys- :)

Got a message from a fella the other day thanking me for all the WIP stuff I have done. He mentioned he had gone through my camp knife WIP thread over 30 times.

That got me thinking, "I wonder how many times it's been viewed now?" I remember at the time of putting it together, telling Angi that I thought the thread might get as many as 20,000 views...

I just looked... and it's over 516,000 views.

Thanks for the support folks. :) :)

No, Nick, thank YOU for taking the time to put them together for all of us noobs roaming around here!!! You have seriously expedited the learning process for me. You seem to have a way of putting a video together that makes me feel like I'm hanging out in your shop with you. I remember watching the hand sanding video at least 3 times... Not many are willing to take the time to make helpful videos or post a wip with so much detail, but you do, and still thank others for looking.

I, and I'm sure a lot of others, appreciate what you do greatly. Plus, we get to see tons of knife pron and that alone is worth the look! I don't mean to gush like a school girl but I've said it before, and I'll say it again. You are truthfully in a class of your own and I wish you the best.

Justin

Are you talking about the one in your signature line ?

Good info is good

I wish I could have taken the $ I spent on some of the useless books and videos and given it to you.

If I had read that thread instead of $50KS I would have been on a better path years sooner.

I wonder if you put up a paypal donation button on your website, maybe some others feel the same way?

You can still give Nick your money! :)

Nick, that is an incredible show of talent, expertise, sequencing, craftsmanship. I could see people watching it for many reasons.

Good reference material is always going to be revisited. The view count should be higher because I downloaded all your knifemaking videos and watch them when I need a refresher. I'm not going to gush but I feel the same as others. You really have made a difference to a lot of people. Thanks.

Yup. It was a cool thread. The plot was a little lean, and the dialog and acting was a bit stiff, but the happy ending kind of made up for all of that.

Frankly, the only thing it was really missing was the usual... Not enough chicks!

You rule, bro. and, as always, thanks for the contest. I'll take 36!

That was the thread that inspired me to start making knives. It's been an interesting journey between that thread and where I am at now.

Hey Nick... your quote got me thinking. "20,000" views was a pretty fair estimate of how many people have checked it. calculating that the average user likely looked at it 25 times each (and they most certainly have) that would mean that 20,640 people have admired your WIP, so you're not far from the bullseye yet again.

P.S. that is my all time favorite post/WIP i have ever read... thank you for taking the time.

See Nick...now you are feeling the love.

Watching your videos is like taking a class.

FWIW- The link is in my sig line, so it's included with every post I make. :p ;)
Well that stuff don't show up on my phone using tapatalk. One thing that sucks about not browsing the forums on a real computer.

Just looked at the first few pages and can't wait to read the rest. Very cool

If that WIP and ALL of the other tutorial stuff you've shared over the years were made into a multimedia package and marketed somehow, it would be IMO by far the best resource yet on how to make knives. You'd deserve it to be a great seller and pay the bills for you.
I could even see just the WIP made into a coffee table type book, and selling well at big bookstores. I feel it would be an interesting read for plenty of folks that haven't tried making a knife and never will.

Nick, you are a hugely valuable asset to our community. I know I wouldn't be where I am today were it not for your generous nature. :)

But the tap a talk folks don't see it, and those of us on regular computers have the option to turn off sig lines too.

I find it by going to your profile about me tab

I link to a bunch of your stuff in the std reply
