Hand-forged high-carbon camping/utility knife for hunting and general use. I left the blade brute forge near the spine and finished it out toward the tip. The handle is made out of walnut wood sourced locally; the bolster antique coins and leather. I added a 'hidden' Irish knot engraved in the brute forge of the heel. Apt for left or right hand use. Comes with a handmade leather sheath. Steel: 5160, forged, heat treated and finished entirely by hand. Dimensions: Total length: 11 inches, blade: 6 inches long by 1.3 inches wide at bolster, Width: 5mm.

About me: I'm a blacksmith from Patagonia with over 10 years of experience in the craft. I work with no heavy machines, crafting entirely by hand in my mountain shop.

This would make a great gaucho knife. Very cool.

You're already here, I was going to tag you. This reminded me a lot of a french trade knife, though probably thicker (5mm thick if I'm understanding it right).

Forged in Patagonia Forged in Patagonia I would be interested to the see the included sheath with the knife in it. Do you know the hardness of the steel?

Hi there! Wow, what a cool idea you have there with The Good Knife Co.! Love it!

Here in Argentina we don't have access to the tools that measure Rockwell Hardness Scale - but my partner, who is from California, will be bringing me one when she comes back from visiting her family this summer - so what I can tell you for now is:

1. It was heat-treated in oil
2. It was tested for flexibility
3. It was thoroughly tested for hardness. It sliced right through a thick metal bin and chipped the metal off a train rail.

Once my partner Kristin brings me the Rockwell file, I'll be able to provide specific numbers. Until then, this is what I've got!

Here are some photos with the sheath:

What the heck, I will take it. PM sent.

Nice! I was trying to sell something so I could get. Super sweet looking knife. I'll have to connect with you later on what you think of it. It has a lot of neat small details.

Forged in Patagonia Forged in Patagonia If you take orders I think I would be game for one a hair thinner. If you don't, I'll have to watch and see what you come out with next. Very unique piece you made here and I dig it.

Thank you! I have quite a few more knives listed on Etsy, if there's one there you like, let me know: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ForgedinPatagonia#

Otherwise, happy to discuss a custom order!

I will definitely let you play with it, I can send it to you when I get my JK Hudson Bay Sharpened by you. I also said I would be interested in the future for a 4.5 in version maybe 1/8.

I will let this thread stay for the exchange items. If any other comments we can PM each other.
