Can anyone clue me in on Busse camp knives. Looking at buying one but it looks similar to Natural Outlaw. What`s the difference?
INFI Rookie:confused:

Hello Channy,
I don't understand your question, you ask what's the difference, what is the other knife you are comparing to the Natural Outlaw?

There isn't a Busse called the "Camp Knife", there are some other knives out there that look similar to Busse, but make sure you know exactly what you are buying. Only Busse has INFI, and only a Busse will have the extreme performance you get from one of his blades.

Do you have a picture of the other knife?

If you are asking the difference between the Camp Tramp and the NO, the Camp Tramp is made of a different steel (SR-101), features a different handle (made of softer Resiprene-C) and is a bit longer, comparable to a Steel Heart. Do a search on "Swamp Rat" here and you should turn up lots of clarifying information.

If you're referring to the knife that looks like the Natural Outlaw but is larger, that would be the Steel Heart.
The handles are identical but the blade on the Outlaw is 6" while the Steel Heart is 7.5".

Go for the Steel Heart, it's the perfect camp tool for chopping, splitting, and numerous other tasks:cool:

In Busse knives have both the NO and the SH (among some others) and would recommend the SH/E to anyone looking for a general purpose utility knife for the outdoors. It is, IMHO, the essense of Busse in the current production line. I also would have a lightweight slicer for the more delicate tasks. The SH/E is a do-all tough use camp knife.

Happy hunting.

The seller says it is the Busse "camp knife".
The finish on the blade looks smooth flat black, not like current finish. The seller says it`s an early model. The knife and sheath looks exactly like a NO except for the finish. He also stated that the steel was somthing else beside INFI. Will try to send pics.
Thanks.

yeah send some pics of that SHI

if you don't want it i'll be next on the list please.

I thought it was "the thot plickens, like gooth thauth" :D

Anyways, I'll suggest a Steel Heart. I just used the hell out of mine on a holiday road trip, some light digging and prying (we were exploring abandoned mines up in the Black Hills). I also used it for splitting a number of bundles of firewood using the old "wack it into the end of the wood and pound it through with another smaller log" method.

Worked great. :)
