Camp Knives

I have the little brother to these knives, same pattern at 5 3/8 blade and 1/8 tapered thin. It is a wicked slicer so I need a matched set(eventually)
(show the pic if you want Bruce)

first one for me Bruce, no choil. With a 1/4 inch round notch at the edge so I could sharpen it right back on a stone. Green micarta with the red liners......, tooled leather with a dangler like the second.

That will hopefully be my order in a few months, need more work...

This is Brad's knife, the 6th one I sold here on BF:

I like them both, even the broken one :D

Nice dangler setup on the black sheath, too!

Thanks for the link dboles:thumbup

Jcav - the micarta one is 5/32" and the bocote one is 3/16" steel. The handles are both the same thickness at ~7/8".

That was my first dangler Koyote - and wont be my last. The dangler is removable with 2 chicago screws (as I don't trust just one in case it came loose).

I think 5/32 is a good compromise between pry bar tough and slicer thin. Should make for a great all arounder. Dangler does look good...and should keep the butt from pushing up into my muffin top.

If it was to be my knife, I'd want the handle and small guard of the micarta handled blade with the grind of the wood handled blade. The choil would tend to annoy me, I think.
Either way, great looking knives!

i just came across this thread. without doubt, i prefer the 3/16", Bocote, no choil. Why ? Because it's MY Knife !! and it is totally awesome. could not be any better in any aspect. balanced in hand, perfect primary and edge grinds, and shaving sharp.
i could go on with all the 'right-on' details, but will just sum up this way:
Bruce's knifes are THE BEST deal on a FB anywhere. get a knife made by Bruce and i guarantee you'll have a knife in which you can't find a single flaw, one that pleases you greatly, and that you too will feel you got a knife as good or better than those costing 2 or more times his price.
