Hey just finished this up today, it's fully forged with a tapered tang. It is forged from 1/4'' 5160.

It has been 3x's quenched and 2x's tempered. It has a bead blasted finish. The handles are 3-D g10 over black linen micarta.

The handles are sculpted around the edges, and this is a very comfortable knife to use/hold.

the dimensions are:

o.a. 12 1/2''
blade width is 1 7/8'' wide
blade length is 7 1/4''

price with a sheath is $185 shipped

paypal is a-takach@takachforge.com

postal money order accepted also

That thing is sweet. I wish I hadn't just spent my knife budget for the month ;) That one shouldn't last long - it's a cool design and a sweet handle.

this is as best price i can give on this. the reason for the low price has nothing to do with the qualitity of knife you'll be getting, it simply because it dosent have a makers mark on it.

No particular reason, it just dosent have it, but i will honor a lifetime guarantee on it as any other knife i make.

Good luck selling this one. I was using your fat belly hawkbill at the grill tonight. That is one sweet blade.

i just finished this knife a little bit ago, and the sheath is still being built, it is a med. brown hand stitched sheath, full welt, and a belt loop for vertical carry.

hope to have it done this evening

This showed up today and damned if this isn't the aggressive branch whacker! The widening towards the tip and the tapered tang combine to shift the balance WAY forward, resulting in a knife that easily seems to keep pace in chopping with the similarly-sized Swamp Rat Ratweiler even though this knife is significantly thinner and lighter. It's almost hatchet-like in its willingness to bite into wood. Combine this with a spearpoint woodsman's knife and I'm not sure what you couldn't accomplish.

The handle feels really good too--I was interested to see how the texturing out on the edge of the scales would feel but it's very "soft" and comfortable, and really makes the grip feel secure without locking your fingers into only one grip like finger grooves.

Nice job Andrew!!

thanks again

That is a good looking piece made from a real tough steel.
It would not take much to make that with about a 9 or 10" blade . With that slight drop it should also be great wood knife and pack knife for a long treck.

Nice Job !
