Campanion ?

The BK2 is the favorite here, but I'm a blasphemer for liking the Crewman better. I'd still grab the 2 if I found a bargain though.

I have the ESEE 5 and a BK2, gen 2. The Becker has a thinner edge than the ESEE 5. The grind starts higher on the Becker, vs the ESEE 5. My BK2 feels a bit lighter than the ESEE as well.

I just got to handle the Kabar bK2, and it rocks..its next on the list, then a crewman..than the magnum camp. In that order.
A very tough survival knife IMO, the BK2.

I can do some pretty amazing stuff, woodland wise with my BK2, I actually have been using other knives of different sizes, like the BK14 and the BK9 to try to round out my skills. There for a while, it kinda became like cheating when me and the 'ol bush buddies hit the woods, cause I can build just about anything I need in the woods with a BK2 and paracord. Truth be told, if my natural cordage skills were better, I would only need my Campanion. I need to get back to workin on the cordage thing, but since I broke my hand, its real painful to do, and my hand fatigues faster.

BK2, what can't it do.

I carried a Campanion to the jungle years ago in Costa Rica along the Panama border. Used it to do everything but it was especially good at husking coconuts. I loved that knife and even wrote about it in Tactical Knives magazine.

I remember that now that I think about it.

that blackjack seems insane. how thick is it. also in that picture the companion looks like a relatively thin blade, which makes me think that beckers must have ridiculously thick handles. this the case?

Not that I am aware of. Actually, I recently was given a pair of handle scales, and I believe they came from one of the older lines, as they are much thicker and bulkier than the handles on both of my current Becker knives. The newer ones are much more shaped, whereas the older ones seem to be just friggin big.

I have man hands, so the Camillus micarta works well for me. :p
I am anxious to try some Ka-Bar micarta scales, but everyone seems to be out of stock till the new year.
