I forged this from 5160 steel because a knife this large needs to be tough.
Heat treated in my shop using a digitally controlled furnace to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain throughout the blade.
Flat grind with a mat finish and forged texture on the flats.
I used Black canvas Micarta for the handle, sanding to 130 grit for good grip.
Overall length: 13 inches
Blade: 8 1/4 inches
Weight of the knife only: 16 ounces
Leather scabbard with a belt loop and tied down
