HEREare a couple items that are handy camping in the wild.

Ruger Blackhawk 45 LC. Browning Buckmark Camper. and of course the Opinel folding saw. The 45 LC is a versatile handgun with loads from 160 grain bullets to nearly 400 grain Cast for the big mean stuff. The Browning is a real bargain and a great shooter. They can usually be found for 250-275 bucks.

I read the title of the thread and a slightly different 'camping companion' came to my mind...

My best camping companion. I'm glad that at 17 years old he can still find time to camp out with his old man.

Other handy companions.

I once shot a Rabid skunk. Another time I scared the hell out of a bear who wanted to share our meal. I have used the 22 to take small game for the camp. I often combine hunting and camping trips so I usually have at least one rifle as well. I have a concealed carry permit for my pistols.

My favorite camping companion squeals when she sees a bug. But she makes camping a lot more fun. And she's a good cook too.

I have one of those companions too but she is not afraid of anything. She even catches rattlesnakes by hand.. She cooks them too.:D
