You guys might check out your Target stores. I was in a local store tonight, and I noticed that a lot of the camping gear was clearance marked 50% off. I saw a two burner Coleman stove (propane) for $21.50 as well as a lot of other Coleman items marked down. There were some other brands marked half-off as well. All I grabbed was a spare globe for my lantern, but I almost picked up a cool Coleman propane torch (light source) for $12. Still mulling that one over.

Anyway... heads up.

Heading to sams tomorrow for food shopping. Target is right next door. maby I will detour on the way.

There appeared to be no rhyme or reason as to what was marked down and what was not. I *liked* a Coleman aluminum coffee kettle and a Coleman grill/burner combo stove, but neither one of those items had been marked down.

I used to work at a Target and I know from experience that not all stores do the same clearance at the same times. I'm not saying the won't have the same stuff on clearance, but just don't be surprised if they don't. That having been said, I'll be checking out my local Target tomorrow. ;)

Just got back from my local Target, and sure enough there is a bunch of stuff on clearance in their camping/outdoors aisle, so never mind my previous post. There'll probably be some new stuff coming to all of the stores soon.

Things that caught my eye included A Vic Tinker packaged with a small pair of binoculars for about 20 bucks, and a Leatherman Micra and Squirt also for right around 20 bucks each.

You might also want to check out the Goodwill stores around your area in the next couple of weeks. Most of the stuff that doesn't get sold before they need the shelf space for new items will probably end up there.

That is one of the stores I sorely miss since moving back to Canuskistan. We'll be heading south again soon if all goes to plan - miss those stores.

The Target/Walmart camping clearances is where I stock up on canisters for my butane/propane stove at about a buck apiece (instead of four).

thanks for the heads up what a shame i just bought a sus scof. at the 1500 in indy all my moola is on hold for my ash's

Guyon - great lead... Just picked up a coleman two burner stove for $12 off regular price:D SAK sets and some Leathermen on sale too...

UPDATE: Target has reduced some stuff in my local store to 75% off.

Got a Greatland single-burner stove for 3.74, and a Coleman rechargeable lantern for 7.87, and a two-burner Coleman stove for $10.74.

Wow, great deal on the dual burner Coleman stove, I've got the same model, got it "free" with credit card points maybe ten years ago, but I think they were selling for $50-$60 back then.
