Camping Hints and Suggestions

What do you do if your campsite doesnt have electricity???

Uhhhh.... not sure how to answer that since generally I don't go to campsites with electricity. I guess what I always do. Make a fire, cook up some good grub, and sit back and enjoy hanging out in the woods with family or friends.

BTW welcome to Blade forums.

Runningboar, LOL

I get out my bow and drill and start my lifelong pursuit of making fire. I help my son build stuff with sticks. I just bought a planetsphere which helps locate constellations in the night sky. But mostly, I stare at the flames. I can do that for hours, literally.

I assume you mean at a campground/state park. Well, there are plenty of things to do. Swim, hike, canoe, play frisbee, grill out, make a fire, or just enjoy other's company or the company of the outdoors.

Fire up the generator, haul out the computer, TV, stereo, and mini fridge...

Just don't camp near me, OK? ;)

Easy, just plug the toys into a currant bush! (hey, nobody else said it yet !)

I know there's a Bear Grylls joke in this thread somewhere.....

CSG, you forgot about stringing the patio lanterns

A little Crown Royal and a Cusano M1 Torpedo makes it even better ;) .

If the sun comes up and there still isn't any electricity, then I suppose you could go fishing.

On a serious note, we have an RV which is my family's preferred way of travel. We drycamp as much as possible, away from others (read, no campgrounds), and use the deep cycle batteries to run power in the rig. We do keep a small Honda EU2000 to recharge batteries if needed.

Feed the fire, enjoy some coffee or hot chocolate, play guitar or hand drums (if car camping) or flute, chat with my girlfriend if she's with me, stare into the fire and think, listen to the animals at night, lounge in my hammock and read during the day, etc, etc, etc. I never camp anywhere that has electricity.
