Had an amazing time camping for our anniversary. The lake was amazingly private and our spot was phenomenal.

The Malaga was awesome and although a little uncomfortable when over packed it was still more comfortable than I thought it would be. The unsnapping of the strap was very convenient and the added feature of the little strap made it a lot more secure on my back. My RC-5 fit absolutely perfect on the side and the internal organization was great as nothing rattled around at all. My wife wants even wants one now and she wants a H.E.S.T too!

The Malaga is a great bag IMHO.

Malaga seems to be a great bag. Unfortunately some ppl go with a lot more stuff than you did, but I'm liking it and it could be a good pair with the vulture.
And congrats on your wife wanting the HEST

was that outside of Morganton NC....love those mtn lakes.. noticed your license tag, you are a fellow NC'ian.. you may want to white out the tag.. your choice. btw where did you get your hammocks?

It's cool when you can get your wife into knives, it makes it easier to buy new ones! :D

When we go on extended backpacking trips I take my 4200 cu. in. Kelty. I had a Vulture and ended up trading it because it was just too close to the same size as the Kelty. We try to be as minimalist as possible.

Thanks.

Not really outside of Morganton. Probably about 3 - 4 hours away. Where abouts in NC are you? We got the hammocks at a local outfitter, they are awesome.

That's good to hear. Well since my whole system is changing, it will first be get the gear and then ration it in 2 packs

Don't live there now, but I grew up in Pilot Mountain, NC. I miss NC. I've been lost for 20 years up here too far north.

Trying to think, between Greensboro and Chapel Hill.... Sanford? Burlington?

;)

If you look there is a shadow on his upper legs. Whats on his lower legs looks a lot darker. Almost like mud or a tattoo.

Definitely a shadow mixed with leg hair. I have a tattoo on my calf but it's not visible in the picture.

Great pics thanks for sharing, looks like the trip was a lot of fun. That was a great view to wake up to every morning.
