Hello all-- New to this forum but I wanted to jump in . I am on a couple of other knifemaking firums and actually just got back from visiting one of the makers who lives close by me.
I figured I would offer this up as it seems to be a pretty hot item,.

I recently acquired a 55lb Campo meteorite. I am using it in my Thor Mjolnirs that I create (go to my website www.thorhammers.com to see some of my work.

Anyway, I am getting it sliced into some decent size pieces, the last slice was about 4lbs itself. I willkeep some of it for my own use, but am in a bartering mood so I would be willing to trade a slice of this to someone who would be willing to create me a knife made from it. You keep the rest of it. Average cost for this piece is usually about .25 per gram to 1.00 plus per gram. This one has some stuff mixed in it that I was just amazed with. Not sure what it is , but it is certainly a different type of metal that the material surrounding it. very interesting.

so this is my introduction to the forum-- hope I can get to be good friends with all of you here.
I have already met some good friends on the other one-- Del Ealy, Randy Haas to name a couple.

Welcome to BF! Interesting work. If you go to the knifemakers forum, you'll find quite a few like-minded, creative, and just plain good folks hanging around. We have some talented folks making hatchets, etc. as well, so you'll be at home, I think.

I have a little itty-bitty meteorite in my old rock collection, that one day I might see if a maker here can work into a custom knife for me. You've got a good sized-piece there. It would be interesting to see what comes from it.

How in the world did you get a hold of an Argentinian meteorite?
Have you gotten it analyzed as to matrix components?

I second the tomahawk!!
 
OK--if someone is up for making a tomahawk they have to make 2 if i ante up the meteorite slab!!! First come first served!!!
