I’m moderately handy but feel like a moron right now. I can’t figure out how to get the blade back on my 0460.

Unlike other ZTs, this one has TWO washers and two bearings. The one YouTube video shows only one washer in the 0460.

Any help with the order of assembly would be great.

It probably shows only one washer because the other was stuck in the track of the titanium side. The bearings go against the blade, the washers go against the bearings, and the handle sandwiches it all together...

That’s a possibility on why the other washer wasn’t shown.

That seems like the correct placement... still won’t go together correctly.

Yes.one washer on each scale...bearings against blade. I can't remember if the washers have a flat on
them or not to prevent rotation...if they do and you don't get it seated you can't assemble it.

Hmm, I'd try flipping the washers and bearings around, basically different configurations. The order described above by others seems like common sense, but who knows how it came. This is why it's important to note how it was when you took it apart and put it back together the same way. I know that doesn't help much now. Maybe someone will take theirs apart and let you know what it looks like.

The 0460 (mine anyway) only has a washer on the CF side. There is no recess in the Ti scale. In my experience, the difficulty might be related to getting the back spacer, stop pin and pivot all in alignment—mostly the stop pin and backspacer. Some times they go together with almost zero tolerance. (Sorry. I’ll show myself to the door.:D)

Pictures of the knife disassembled would help. And pics of you having the knife assembled would be even more helpful to see if anyone can spot the mistake. It does sound like the knife isn’t completely seated at all points for it to be tight.

Thanks for taking the time formerfmf!

Mine does have a bearing race in the titanium scale.

Looking at the next to last pic, the stop pin doesn’t look like it’s seated in. There should be no gap between the slab and shoulder of the stop pin. I see a gap. The fat part of the stop pin should be against the slab

Can you post pictures of everything seated correctly? Try flipping it around? Something must still be off.

Agree with the others that in the pics you posted the stop pin is not fully seated.
It’s also interesting to see that your knife has a recess in the Ti scale!

Mine was an early model, the very first batch received by the dealer.

My ZT’s take some finesse to get everything seated (see my cheezy tolerance comment above), but I have an 0450 that is particularly particular about which way the stop pin and back spacers go in.

Just saw your most recent pictures. Try putting it back together with the blade at 90° instead of fully open.

if the lockbar is engaged with the tang, it might prevent everything from seating correctly.

If that still doesn’t work, Try putting it together without the blade and pivot, then observe very closely how everything is seated. The 0450 I mentioned above had a small bur on a backspacer that needed to be relieved.

Is it me or does it look like the caged bearings on the ti side are sitting really high?

I agree. I think that washer on the ti side is not supposed to be there. I had one of those, and mine did not have a washer on that side either. Try assembling without that washer and see what happens.

I imagine that is also what is making everything not seat all the way.

I don't think any of my ZTs have a washer on the ti side. I thought maybe they added one with this model?

OP, are you sure it was there before? If not, I wonder how it got there? This is a bit of a head scratcher.
