I need help . I'm looking for a 12 " flat face plate to build a 12" disc sander and I cannot find a 12" disc anywhere . Does anyone know where I may find a 12 " disc to place on my motor ? I cannot seem to find one anywhere .
All help and thoughts are needed .

Jack if you have or know anyone that has a band saw with a circle cutting attachment, you may consider making your own for little or nothing,3/4 or 1 inch plywood work's good with spray adhesive,if you need alittle more help with thought's let me know and i'll throw one together so you can see it,i can turn a mounting hub for your shaft size if needed.

You might look at the Grizzly Company. I know they have spare parts for their grinders and might be able to find a parts list with one on it. Mike

I got mine off ebay for like $25. Was for a Shop smith I think. I will say that if you only have one disk I would go with a 9", so you can cut disk from regular paper sheets. I set my disk up with a 9" on one end and a 12" on the other end of a shaft driven by a variable speed motor. 12" sanding disks are spendy especially when not aluminium oxide. I am lucky as I have access to 3 ft wide rolls in 2 grits.

PS, just looked and there are 2 right now Shopsmith Aluminum Al 12" Sanding Disk Disc One has a 24.95 buy it now. Keep checking if you miss these They come around.
