My wife gave it too me a while back. She got it at an antique shop, where they said it was WWII era. It is a small (3.75" total length) fixed blade knife, full tang, with mother of pearl scales. The only markings on it are the words RELCO and JAPAN, on the blade just above the handle. It certainly feels old, based on the brittleness of the leather sheath, but I haven't been able to turn up any info on it.

If it says only "Japan" it's either pre war from 1921 to the start of the war or post war after 1949. From the end of the war until 1949 items from Japan are marked "occupied Japan". Relco manufactured everything from salt shakers to knives and everything in between. The knife looks post war vintage, probably 1950's to 1970's.
