Can anyone tell me more about this 118? I just got this in trade deal. This has the green/brown micarta scales but is not the upgraded steel "Pro" version. Is this a rare bird? A unique prototype?

I also have a 103 and 105 with the same micarta scales, but regular steel. I am really curious as to the background of these varieties!

Wow, good grab. Those were part of our pilot runs for all of the 100 series in the micarta/S35VN. We never released them except at the Factory Sale. If memory serves me right there was less than 100 sold during that Father's Day Factory Sale.

I appreciate the info! Thank you!

Does the 100 sold refer to the total of all 100 series knives or to 100 for each model?

Hmm, I have one of those, can't remember who or how. Might have been DOGPOUND77 DOGPOUND77 ?
Glad to know the fact surrounding it's development and existence. Thanks Matt Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc.

I would love one of these in S35VN. I thought I read in a prior thread somewhere that the 420HC version was a prototype for the S35VN run a few years ago that I missed out on?
