I may be working out a deal with a member here by the name STP69, and he has a limited trader history.

I am asking if anyone has dealt with him and not left feedback, or has seen the name around.

I am cautious of dealing with people with no history. But everyone has to start somewhere. I never trade with people with no history. If it's a purchase make sure it's PayPal GOODS. Don't do FRIENDS ever!!!

As am I, which is why I am asking around.

I don't plan on paying with anything other than G&S, and possibly paying with a credit card via G&S so I will have some redundancy when it comes to security measures.

Does anyone else have any tips or precautions?

I've only done one purchase ever so I'm no expert. I would try to get him on the phone and get a feel.
 
I don't know the name or BF nic ... but I just checked out his ativity and has 108 posts ... ALL in folding knives for sale ... not saying that in itself makes him a bad person to deal with ... but for me is a red flag ... and read a few of his posts ... another red flag

check out his profile page and posts before you complete the deal just to be safe

Not sure it's the same person...Claimed he was from the Bronx...also claimed to be Marine Force Recon...

Completely full of shit and banned for atrocious and disruptive behavior, all in Sales/Trade sub.
 
Thanks, folks. I don't think I will be following through with it, unless he is willing to ship first and I have time to inspect the goods prior to my doing so.

(And his communication shows some improvement.)

I still wouldn't do it Bill. Not worth dealing with people who aren't stable. Who knows what problems could show up down the road.

At least you'll get some exposure for what you're after.

I have done so (probably 15-20 times), as well as having it in my signature for a few months...

I have thought about that. Also, I would pay with a credit card through PayPal so I have another layer of protection.
