"Can do it all" fixed blade - advice please!

i am down on the Bravo1 because of the thumb ramp, it looks like it would really get in the way with certain grips for dressing game

I've skinned and parted up reindeer with mine and the ramp was never a problem. If you ask them BRKT will remove it before shipping the knife to you.

I would ask them to remove it. just personally speaking, i don't see how it did not get in the way. i dunno, habit is a hell of a beast. But i did not know they would remove it - if they would remove it and add some jimping, well. bingo.

Here is a great review with pics on the Caldwell:

A very tempting knife. :)

ADD - I think you need to step off this thread =D (jk) I will never pick if you keep coming up with these things though! Caldwell is making a 1-4 on vintageknives right now, 4.5" blade out of 154cm, 9" total. looks like the perfect knife. Pretty similar to the Bravo-1 minus the thumb ramp.

Here, let me help with your decision.

Edit: Sorry, my knife was a little dirty and I couldn't be bothered to clean it before I took this picture.

I would like to mention one that has gone unnoticed. The DH Russell Camp knife by Grohmann. I carried one of these for years.
