Can Elmax be mirror polished?

I've seen it done. I would not want to attempt it after HT, this stuff is very wear-resistant. Go to final dimension before HT, and sand it very close to your final finish. (say 1,000 grit or even higher if you're going to want to buff it to a mirror, extra work now will save you a ton of time later.)
