Can Fall be Far?

Nice Knife you got there! Fall is coming fast this year, feels like the summer never really started......... Last week it was in the mid 70's during the day and 40's at night. It took me by surprise and got me motivated to finally get started building a new apple cider press. Between that and squirrel hunting, fall is my favorite season. Joe

Joe, where are you located? Maybe Vermont??

I'm in Memphis. Not many trout like that in my neck of the woods. I have family in Hot Springs Village and also in Cabot, so the Little Red is the easiest river to wet a line in for me. That tailwater keeps me in good fishing 12 months out of the year. Problem when it gets real hot is that all four generators up at the dam are running and the water is too deep to wade. I tore my achilles a couple of months ago, so I'm just hoping I'm well enough to get in the river this winter. I caught that monster the day after I tore it and I was in a boot. Post surgery its much tougher to get around though.

I work in a school, so autumn means I have to start showing up for work - no more unstructured free time for awhile!

I don't! Three winters in Kansas and my butt moved back to the heat and humidity of FL.

So what year were you here? :D Since we cycle back and forth between summer and winter without bothering with spring and fall, we have time for two or three winters a year.

Here in Pa its still hot and humid although last weekend we had a little teaser with temps in the high 60's and low 70's. But October is my month when I start to come alive again.
The fall is my favorite time of year.
Don't hunt squirrels any more but turkey and deer season are just around the corner.
I tend to spend more time at the cabin and even in the back yard in the fall.
Can't wait to break out the flannel shirts and jeans again!
