does anyone have a firepiston they would be willing to lend me for a week or two?

my physics teacher has something very similar that he uses to demonstrate heating upon compression, but when i told him about the fire piston he was interested. he is mostly curious about how to transfer the heat to a real fire (he is also an avid outdoorsman ).

i was wondering if anyone would be willing to lend me a firepiston to show him how it works...i think he would like to see one in action.

thanks... :o

I have a Michaelmcgo aluminum fire piston you can have for a while. I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would, so I won't miss it really. PM me with your mailing info, and I'll send it right off.

I don't have a working one but I have been trying to make one. You would be amazed at how something so simple can be so dificult to make. I have always wanted to try one but I can't afford to buy one right now so I tried making it, now I'm saving up for one. lol

Anyway, didn't mean to drift the thread I was just going to suggest you parley this into extra credit. Most professors are quick to give extra points if they are asked, and you are educating him in this instance. He don't teach you for free so why should you teach him for free right.

If raindog runs into a hiccup I can send you the home made lucite jobber I used at the get together. No sweat.

i've messaged raindog. halo, thanks for the offer, if anything happens i will keep you in mind.

echo, i'm not really too concerned with it, i have high enough marks anyways... a good thought though.
