Can I get an animated avatar?

I would like to get an animated avatar. Can that be posted by the Mods? It is a small file of a single character on a white background dancing. Its work safe, I will post a pic when I get home. Thanks.

Many people really hate animations on the web -- especially me. Occasionally I see one I don't hate, but the usual jiggling and blinking things are just annoying.

As far as I know if it's an animated gif and within the picture size and file size limits the system will accept it, but the system can't automatically reject annoyances. If it's annoying I'll tell you so without prejudice.

The forum software doesn't allow the use of animated avatars. I am sure I have seen some though.

This is the message I get when I try to download an animated GIF.

You may not upload animated images.

Since version 3.5 of the software, animated image uploads for avatars and profile pictures have been turned off.

either I'm crazy, or the cat in nozh's avatar opens & closes it's eye. That would be pretty small, though.

I believe you are correct, but I think he has had that avatar since before the last software upgrade.
